Our class was the first to ever do PSA in writing for an engineering class. As we were first, we were confused in the beginning about what we had to accomplish. The PSA was about sustainability and it had to be related to our majors. The topic that we pursued was Materials, Waste Management, and Recycling. We reached this decision from the viewpoint of New Yorkers who constantly engage with its purpose; we frequently dispose of trash and recycle utilizing the DSNY’s services, and we have also observed the impact that their labor of love has on us, particularly in light of the epidemic. In order to reduce electronic waste, there is currently a strong emphasis in the technology sector on recycling items and repurposing outdated technology to create new products. We promoted E-waste reduction, and compared sustainability and technology. We had to find out if our organization offers any internships to college students, however, we found out that DSNY only offers volunteering opportunities. Overall, it was a really engaging project and it gave us more opportunities to look forward to.
